Dua for Forgiveness:

Surah Yasin

[36: 1-83]

Revealed in Makkah (approx. 619 – 620 AD)

Surah Yasin is a highly auspicious chapter and is called the “Heart of the Quran”. It focuses primarily on the doctrine of Tauheed (Oneness of Allah) and teaches about the afterlife. Surah Yasin also admonishes the disbelievers for rejecting Prophet Muhammad (SWS) and the message of islam he brought and narrates the folly of past civilizations for rejecting the messengers that Allah sent to them.

Benefits:

Allah forgives the sins of those who recite Surah Yasin at night as mentioned by the Prophet of Allah (SWS),

“Whoever recites Surah Yasin at night seeking the pleasure of Allah, that night he will be forgiven.” – (Abu Nuaym)

Surah Qaf

[50: 1-45]

Revealed in Makkah (approx. 613 – 615 AD)

The main theme of Surah Qaf is the Unity of Allah and the principle of life and death. It focuses centrally on resurrection and, as such, the scene of the Last Day is narrated.

Reciting Surah Qaf in namaz increases one’s sustenance and eases the accounting on the Day of Judgement.
