Surah Ad-Dukhan

Surah Ad-Dukhan is an enlightening chapter of the Quran. “Dukhan” means smoke, and the word is first mentioned in the 10th verse of the surah. This surah is the 44th chapter of the Quran and comprises 59 verses. Surah Ad-Dukhan was revealed in Makkah approximately between 614 – 617 AD.

Surah Ad-Dukhan largely discusses the story of Hazrat Musa (AS), the Pharaoh and the children of Israel. This surah also reveals a lot about the revelation on the Night of Decree (Laylat-ul-Qadr) and unity as well as the creation of the heavens and the Earth. In Surah Ad-Dukhan you can learn about the fate of disbelievers of Islam.

According to tradition, the Holy Prophet (SAW) said:

“One who recites Surah al-Dukhan on Friday in the day and at night, God will have a mansion built for him in Paradise.”

This shows that reciting this surah will help grant the reciter a place in heaven and help rid him of his sins. There is a lot of benefit in reciting including bringing peace and prosperity to one’s business.
